New Pattern, New Horizons: First Snow Shawl
2022 has definitely been a year of firsts for iknituknot, and this is no different: I’ve submitted to and had a crochet pattern accepted by a magazine for the first time ever!
Introducing First Snow, found in Crochet Foundry’s December ‘22 issue!
This is a shawl for those of us who would rather stay inside all winter, now that it’s getting all cold and yucky. Sure, the snow is magical - to watch, not trudge through. So let’s gather around a roaring fire, drink some mulled wine and watch the snow from the other side of the window.
First Snow is a top-down shawl, made in three colors of DK-weight yarn. It starts with a meditative stitch pattern and culminates in fun color play and a three-dimensional border to make an oversized triangle shawl you’ll love for winter.
I’d like to thank Crochet Foundry for taking a chance on me, a relatively unknown designer, and helping me realize a dream. Seeing my shawl on a model, in a real life magazine, is absolutely mind-blowing. Sometimes (most of the time) I can’t believe how far this whole “fiber arts” thing has come for me.
If you’d like to get your hands on the pattern, you can find the December ‘22 issue of Crochet Foundry here!
