There’s nothing like sharing a beach blanket with your favorite person, the sun shining down on both of your faces.

The Ashtan Kerchief is a quick, instant gratification project that will have you looking chic in the warmer months. It comes in two sizes, Adult Small and Large, but can easily be modified to fit any smaller, larger or half size. It is worked in fingering weight, and can be made either that way or by holding two strands of non-mohair lace weight double.

Techniques: magic ring, changing colors for stripes, chain, double crochet, bead stitch, dc decrease clusters, half double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch
Stitch explanations are offered in the pattern.

Yarn: The beige and pink sample uses La Bien Aimee Felix in the colors Sansa and Sunrise (lace weight held double)
The gold and teal sample uses Brooklyn Tweed Peerie in Klimt and a limited edition Black Goat Fibers handdyed skein (one strand of fingering weight each)
The gray and purple uses Black Goat Fibers in Cloaked and Knitpicks Hawthorne in Alberta Arts (one strand of fingering weight each)

Hook: Size E/3.5mm or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Tapestry needle, scissors

Final Measurements: Adult Small: 17 inches (43.2 cm) across and 8.5 inches (21.6 cm) high without ties
Adult Large: 20 inches (50.8 cm) across and 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) high without ties
Ties are made to measure - suggested ties are each 6 inches (15 cm) long
